Energy in kilowatt-hours is watts times hours divided by 1000. Cost is that energy times your price per kilowatt-hour. Multiply by the days in a period for a monthly or annual figure. Formula: Cost = (Watts x hours / 1000) x price per kWh.
What are common electricity bill mistakes?
Confusing watts with kilowatts (1 kW = 1000 W).

What is the Electricity Bill Calculator?

An electricity bill calculator estimates the running cost of an appliance or your usage from its wattage, how long it runs and your tariff.

How the Electricity Bill Calculator works

Energy in kilowatt-hours is watts times hours divided by 1000. Cost is that energy times your price per kilowatt-hour. Multiply by the days in a period for a monthly or annual figure.

Cost = (Watts x hours / 1000) x price per kWh

Electricity cost by daily use (at $0.15 per kWh)

1 kWh30 kWh$5$55
3 kWh90 kWh$14$164
5 kWh150 kWh$23$274
10 kWh300 kWh$45$548
20 kWh600 kWh$90$1,095
30 kWh900 kWh$135$1,643

Worked example

A 100 W bulb run 5 hours a day = 0.5 kWh/day. At 0.15 per kWh that is about 0.075/day, roughly 2.25 a month.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Confusing watts with kilowatts (1 kW = 1000 W).
  • Using the wrong tariff when the plan is tiered or time-of-use.
  • Ignoring standby (vampire) power on devices left plugged in.
  • Leaving out fixed charges and taxes that appear on the real bill.

I built a free watermark adder that works instantly in the browser — no signup, no ads in your face
Body
Hey r/[subreddit],

I kept needing a quick watermark adder and most options online were slow or behind paywalls, so I built one that:

• Runs 100% in your browser (your data never leaves your device)
• No signup, no email wall, no popups
• Loads in under a second on mobile

It covers the standard watermark adder use cases (watermark, brand, image) and links out to the formula + worked examples if you want to learn the math.
